About Me? My reason for travelling with Gordon?
Travelling alone has it's set backs and also it's
compensations! You can go where you like and when you like, but sometimes it can be a little dull and lonely, so in order to get the best of both worlds, you need a companion who brings you friends when you want them, but doesn't take over your intinerary or your demand expensive attention. So, I found Gordon! Who better to travel with than a companion who excites attention, yet stays constant?! Even so is Gordon! The travelling companion par excellence! The colourful, silent,(well, almost silent, he is a bit of a squeaker sometimes, under pressure!!!) smart, and never without his friends. Here is a picture of him with some of those other companionable softies; they rarely travel with him. |

So what about me?
Gordon cannot travel alone, he needs my company as much as I need his! We make the perfect partnership! I was the lone, young, male traveller, until he came along and, without costing me an extra ticket, sat along side me and helped to chat up other friends! It is surprising how the Air Hostesses that walk silently past me, pause for a second look as he gazes straight ahead, enigmatically saying nothing, but causing many a conversation to start! He earns his keep and adds interest to every situation, despite his silent approach!
About Our Early Travels -
I like to travel, but I like the travels to be adventurous and long; so does Gordon; he is worthy of some exsplorations which would take us out of our usual environment and the new friends we sought were to be from different lands from ours and so they were! We went together, firstly to America, the birthplace of Elvis, The King of Rock, then to Africa, (an exploration that was prompted by reading the book and seeing the film "The Power of One"). In Africa we delighted in the people of Gambia, the wild life on the rivers and the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean as I swam as he sun-bathed. Israel was enlightening and fasinating - both the old and new. We had already visited Europe but passed swiftly through without being tempted to linger too long.
